Position Overview:
The player assistant/ambassador/marshal position (from this point forward will be referred to as the PA) at any golf course is a mission critical position when the course is busy. The PA’s acts as the eyes and ears of the rest of the staff of the facility. The primary skill for this role is communication. This staff member will communicate with every single group on the golf course while on duty. This staff member will also communicate with other all other staff on duty at the golf course. The speed of the play of the golf course is one of the components of the players experience. Members have an expectation at their club to play at a four hour or better pace and our goal is to help facilitate that for our members and Resort Guests, alike.
When the course is less busy, this position can and will serve as a benefit to the course conditions because this staff member is like an additional maintenance staff member from the respect that they can do a lot of little things to help maintain the golf course and its condition in ways like removing trash that has found its way to the golf course, repairing divots with sand seed, and fixing ball marks on the greens on both golf courses.

Supervision Received:
PA staff reports to and communicates directly with the golf shop staff on duty during their shift. This position reports to the Golf Shop Supervisor on Duty and indirectly to the head golf professional.
Supervision Exercised:
The PA supervises players and their conduct on the golf course. At times, this can be challenging and at other times, it can be the best office with the best scenery of any of the positions on the property.
Qualifications & Skills:
REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED:
• Prior golf course experience is preferred.
• Successful conflict resolution experience
• Knowledge of the game of golf as a player.
• Preference will be given to those that can work weekends and holidays in our Prime Season (May through October).
Recreation Industry Proviso:
The golf industry in Colorado has a seasonal nature and due to the potential volatility of the seasons in Colorado, there is no guarantee of hours worked during any given week. Our shifts and needs vary every day, and the golf course is open seven days a week much of the year. There is a high probability that you will be asked to work weekends, holidays, and the occasional split-shift. Leadership works diligently to provide a positive, team-oriented work environment for all of our employees.
Compensation:
This position when compared in duties in the area averages $14.42 /hour without benefits or guaranteed hours.
Indirect Compensation:
There is also a golf benefit included in your employment at The Country Club of Colorado that starts after your first two weeks of employment. The details of the golf benefit will be covered after acceptance of a position at The Club.
